What does it mean to be a Volunteer Firefighter?
Here at North Gilliam County RFPD our community depends on the commitment of our volunteer firefighters. We are always looking for volunteers to join our fire family!
What does it take to be a volunteer firefighter?
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to pass a national, state, and local criminal background check
- Valid Drivers License/driving record review
Do I need any special training or experience?
No experience is needed because North Gilliam County RFPD will teach you all of the skills you need to provide fire suppression and rescue service to the residents and visitors of the communities we serve

Is there compensation or benefits? Our volunteers receive $15.00/hr for calls & trainings and the satisfaction of serving our community!
